Working with NIRU
Why partner with NIRU?
Founded in 1979, NIRU brings together precision-cut diamonds, coloured stones, Geneva watchmaking and high jewellery craftsmanship. You can engage us for a specialist service or bring design, prototyping, manufacturing, setting and finishing together in one project. Our connected teams support each stage, from concept to finished piece.
Where is NIRU located?
Our watch and jewellery teams are based in Plan-les-Ouates, Geneva, Switzerland. We cut and polish diamonds in Sri Lanka and coloured stones in Bangkok, Thailand. Our international network, including offices in Paris, Israel and Hong Kong, helps us support clients across other markets.
Can we work with NIRU for a single stage or a complete project?
We can support a specific need, such as stone supply, CAD, CNC machining, setting or finishing, or work with you from initial design through production and final assembly. The scope is shaped around your project and the expertise you need.
Can NIRU work alongside our own teams and suppliers?
We would be pleased to contribute at a defined stage within your existing supply chain, working alongside your designers, workshops and suppliers. Whether you have an initial concept, a CAD file or a component ready for specialist work, we can join the project where our expertise is most useful.
Watches & jewellery
Can NIRU develop and manufacture our watch in Geneva?
We can develop a watch from your brief or work with your existing designs and CAD files. Our Geneva teams cover CAD, prototyping, precision machining, stone setting, finishing, movement casing and final assembly. Together, we can define the stages that best suit your watch and the components you provide.
Can NIRU manufacture our high jewellery in Geneva?
NIRU develops and makes fine and high jewellery in Geneva, from an initial sketch, gouache or technical design through to the finished piece. Our teams bring together CAD, prototyping, jewellery making, stone setting and finishing for unique creations and small series.
Stones
Can we source diamonds and coloured stones from NIRU?
We supply natural diamonds and coloured stones for watch and jewellery projects, including precision-cut diamonds and stones selected for the design. You can source stones as a standalone service or combine stone supply with manufacturing and setting in Geneva.
Can NIRU set stones we supply?
Our Geneva setters can work with client-supplied diamonds or coloured stones, subject to a review of the stones and the piece. We will assess the specifications, design and setting requirements with you before confirming the scope of work.
Where do NIRU’s stones come from, and how are they verified as natural?
NIRU cuts and polishes diamonds in Sri Lanka and coloured stones in Bangkok, Thailand. These are the locations where the stones are worked; their mining origins depend on each stone’s documented supply chain. We apply supplier due diligence and natural-origin checks, including in-house diamond verification and gemmological assessment of coloured stones. Treatments are disclosed where applicable.
Confidentiality & getting started
How does NIRU protect our designs and confidentiality?
We understand the importance of protecting an unreleased design. Please let us know about any confidentiality requirements when you first get in touch. We can then agree appropriate terms and a secure way to share drawings, CAD files or specifications before technical work begins.
How does a project begin?
To begin, tell us a little about what you would like to create and where you would value our support. You are welcome to come to us with an idea, an existing design, a component or stones. Contact us through the website or at contact@nirugroup.com, and we can discuss the scope and next steps. If your project is confidential, we can agree how to share detailed materials before you send them.
