In 1975, Ranjeet Barmecha started polishing diamonds in Navsari, India. Soon after, he embarked on his entrepreneurial journey, launching his own business with a loan from his father-in-law.
As operations grew, Ranjeet frequently traveled to Belgium and Israel in search of rough diamonds, eventually relocating his family to Tel Aviv. In 1979, he founded NIRU Diamonds, naming the company after his wife Nirmala’s nickname.
